3. Melbourne International Comedy Festival
If laughing is the best medicine then visiting Melbourne in late March would make for one healthy holiday! As if Melbourne and its amazing food wasn’t enough of a reason to visit Victoria! The Melbourne Comedy Fest is the world’s third largest international comedy festival and attracts thousands of comedians performing varying styles from stand-up to cabaret!
If your summer bod isn’t ready, it will soon be with this (almost) month-long ab work-out! The chuckle fest has something for everyone; it’s safe to say there won’t be a stitch-less stomach in the house. 4. Bright Autumn Festival
‘Bright’ isn’t just referring to the place for this Australian festival, it’s also the general vibe to this 10-day art, food and wine celebration.
Usually held over the last weekend in April and the first in May, you can expect autumnal hues of orange and yellow as you meander from galleries and markets to gardens in beautiful Bright. Just a three and a half hour drive from Melbourne, there’s more to this regional town than its colourful festival. Climb the peaks of Mount Buffalo National Park or cycle the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail.
5. Queenscliff Music Festival
For the last two decades, this annual Australian festival has attracted locals and tourists alike to the Bellarine Peninsula for some easy listening of big-name local and international acts. It usually goes ahead during the last weekend in November, just as Victorian weather is on the incline. But it’s not only a celebration of sound, there are tonnes of appetizing food trucks from here and afar. Queenscliff is less than a 30-minute drive from Geelong which means you can recharge at Quality Hotel Bayside Geelong in prep for all the good times ahead!
