Brisbane is packed with bustling, waterfront restaurants, offering food and cocktails that rival the views. Here are the places that should make your Brisbane bar crawl bucket list!

Elixir Rooftop Bar, Fortitude Valley

This sophisticated rooftop bar is a new edition to Brisbane’s thriving bar scene. Their bar “alchemists” are masters of the art of cocktail making, mixing up a combination of classics and their own creations that will draw the eye of even the most ardent beer drinkers – although their impressive beer list will be sure to keep them happy.

Brooklyn Standard, Brisbane City

Inspired by underground American dive bars, Brooklyn Standard is every bit as cool as you’d imagine. With pumping music, free table pretzels and a dancefloor that gets filled with in the blink of an eye, this is the spot to go if you’re in the mood for some good music in an unpretentious environment.

Riverbar & Kitchen, Brisbane

Every Brisbane bar crawl must include a glimpse of some of their amazing river views, so for the best spot in town head to Riverbar & Kitchen on the waterfront of Brisbane River. Their kitchen sends out delicious meals that are beautiful to look at, but their cocktail jugs make this the perfect destination for whiling away the hours with an eye on the water.

Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall

Opulence is the name of the game at this gentleman’s club-turned speakeasy. Think big chandeliers, stuffed taxidermy heads and an unrivalled live music scene. Their signature drink, Whisky Apple Juice, is made from freshly juiced Granny Smith apples and will convert anyone into a whisky lover.

Death Valley, Morningside

This small hole in the wall bar is a favourite of the hipster set – especially thanks to their in-house record label (so you know that indie tunes abound). With 10 rotating beer taps and an outdoor deck, complete with catering by the Red Robin Supper Truck, this is the place to be for a laid back night out.

Soleil Pool Bar, South Bank

With warm weather pretty much a guarantee, you might be in the mood to sip a cocktail or two by the pool, in which case the place to be is Soleil Pool Bar. With a line up of DJs and live music throughout the weekend and an expansive bar inside, it’s the perfect spot for afternoon drinks in the sun that are likely to go on all night.

Alfred & Constance, Fortitude Valley

Alfred & Constance is one of a kind and must be visited to truly get a feel for all they have to offer. Made up of two houses connected by an outdoor deck, this sprawling bar spans all the different rooms and adjusts their style to accommodate any type of party you’re after. Head to the dining room for dinner and then get your fill of tropical cocktails in their tiki bar. And if you’re in the mood for something sweet, be sure to hit up their late night dessert bar.

Madame Wu, Brisbane

If you like your nights out with a little bit of elegance than you’re going to love Madame Wu. They serve modern Asian cuisine that expands to their signature cocktail list, with drinks like the Sichuan Margarita and the Peached Sake. If you’re unsure which cocktail you’d like to try first, they do offer a cocktail sample board with two or three mini versions, which is perfect for those wanting to try a little bit of everything. With views of the river from their balcony it is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the water.

With so many must-see bars surrounding Brisbane, all you need now is the perfect place to crawl into bed after a long night.
