Events we’re keeping our eyes on for 2024

Vivid Sydney – NSW

Prepare to be dazzled by stunning 3D light displays, immersive multimedia installations and live performances at Vivid Sydney. Australia’s largest festival of light, music, and ideas takes place over 23 days and nights, transforming Sydney’s iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, into a mesmerising wonderland. The theme for Vivid Sydney 2024 is ‘humanity’, and Vivid Sydney 2024 promises to project the love and creativity that bring us together. 

State of Origin – NSW, Queensland and Victoria

The State of Origin rugby league series promises to be one of the pinnacle sports events this year, when the passionate rivalry between New South Wales and Queensland kicks off in Sydney. Witness the adrenaline-pumping clashes between two powerhouse teams as they battle for supremacy. State of Origin 2024 also returns to Melbourne for the first time since 2018 when the MCG plays host to a Game II blockbuster. The passion, intensity, and sheer skill on display make the State of Origin a must-see event for any sports aficionado.

Moomba Festival – Victoria

The Moomba Festival has always gone big, and in 2024 it also promises to go back to the golden age of disco. Step back in time as Bjorn Again recreate ABBA’s world-renowned Moomba appearance from 1977, adding lively hits to Melbourne’s annual streetfest. You can also expect a diverse range of other activities, including a vibrant parade, watersport competitions on the Yarra, fireworks displays and Moomba festival rides.
